Translating the Expressive Abstract: from physical form to the written page”

23 January 2016, 4-6pm

Led By Jaz Pop, a member of the Cartae Open School

The goal of this workshop is to find a way of writing that embodies a non-linear, emotionally-driven, instinctive, visceral form of expression in both style and content. In an attempt to do so, we will build ourselves up using the abstract, absurd expressions found in clown and physical theatre and attempt to convey our selves textually. Expect to move in strange and unusual ways, and to speak/write strange and unusual things. Expect to be bigger and fuller and less sensical than you are while, say, drinking coffee at a bus station.
