Twenty years ago, a group of committed young artists decided to take a chance, to create something new in the life of the Winnipeg art community: aceartinc. In these years, there have been literally hundreds of exhibitions and events, artist lectures, performances, partnerships and members.

This section of the aceartinc. website is a resource and history of these events. Each year of programming represented includes details about exhibitions and artists involved with our organisation over the years, alongside image documentation of artworks, where available. The site also includes Critical Distance texts.

Critical Distance is a writing program of aceartinc. that encourages critical writing and dialogue about contemporary art. The program is an avenue for exploration by emerging and established artists and writers. Written for each exhibition mounted at aceartinc., these texts form the basis of our annual journal, PaperWait. aceartinc. distributes the Critical Distances freely through its website in the form of a fully designed, ready-to-print PDF.

PaperWait is an annual Journal that covers a programming year.
